Bae, DDS at Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry in Yorba Linda, CA, with the help of dental sealants, you can. dental sealants

What are Dental Sealants?

Dental sealants are thin layers of protective polish that are placed over your children's teeth, particularly the back teeth, to help prevent cavities from forming.

How Do Dental Sealants Work?

Once sealants are placed on your children's teeth, the sealants create a barrier that keeps the food and germs off of their teeth. As a result, these particles are not allowed the chance to cause decay.

How are Dental Sealants Applied?

In order to apply the dental sealants, your children's dentist will first clean and dry their teeth. Then, the dentist will use a special solution to create a rough texture on the teeth that will allow the sealant to stick better. Once the teeth are ready, the dentist will then paint the liquid sealant on your children's teeth. The sealant will either dry and harden on its own or the dentist will use a special light to harden the sealant quickly.

What Benefits do Dental Sealants Offer?

Dental sealants don't just help protect your children from cavities; they also help protect your family from all of the other effects of cavities as well. For example, if your children don't get cavities, they require less trips to the dentist and you don't have to spend as much money or take as much time off of work and missed school days. No one likes a cavity. Sealants help protect the teeth from developing them.
